how to login to kaartijin

The Department of Education is delivering a new online student information system to all WA public schools called Program Kaartdijin. The Kaartdijin Solution for schools uses Compass to manage student attendance and wellbeing and communicate important school information.

The Kaartdijin Solution for parents/guardians allows schools to invite parents/guardians to connect with them online through their Compass parent portal.

Noranda Primary is transitioning to this new system from 27th May.  Before this date you will receive further information and an email with details on how to access the Compass portal.

The new system will notify parents, guardians, and caregivers of unexplained absences or late arrivals.

It will send parents an SMS on their mobile phone when their child is marked absent without an explanation.

This is a sample message below. Parents will get this SMS with the link if their child is marked absent without an explanation. Parents should use this link to add attendance notes about their child’s absence. Please note that the link will be valid for only 48 hours. Do not reply to this message via SMS as the school will not receive it. The school will receive your response via the link provided. Ensure the phone is connected to an Internet data plan or has WIFI access to use the hyperlink.

If the child is absent again without a prior explanation, parents will get a new one-time link.

If parents do not use the link provided, they can notify the school of their child’s absence via telephone or email.

If you have any other questions regarding the Attendance SMS Communications, please call the school on 9218 1550.

The 2026 faction carnival has now been and gone, and it delivered a full day of competition that had a bit of everything, with plenty more still to come this term.
The day started in tough conditions, with a cold wind cutting across the track during the morning sprints. It made things challenging early, but the students got on with it and there were still some strong performances across the 200m, 100m, 80m and 50m races. By the time recess arrived, the weather had turned, the sun came out and it set up a much better run for the rest of the carnival.
The tabloid events through the middle of the day kept the pressure on, with pass ball, leader ball, flag race and the novelty events all playing their part. The points stayed tight, with every faction still in the mix heading into the final events.
After lunch, the relays lifted the atmosphere again. The faction relays and grand relay brought plenty of energy, with close finishes and strong support from the sidelines as the final points were decided.
At the end of the day, Gold finished first, followed by Blue in second, Red in third and Green in fourth. Red’s run of wins stretching back to 2017 came to an end, which shows just how even the competition has become.
With both interschool jumps and throws and interschool athletics still to come, the focus now shifts to preparing our selected students to represent the school.
It was great to see the way students approached the day, getting involved and backing their factions. A big thank you to all staff for the work that goes into making the carnival run smoothly, and to the P + C for their continued support in helping make the day what it is.

Angkor Awareness Day

We had a fabulous day on Friday for Angkor Awareness Day. Our students participated and had a ball with the activities on Friday afternoon. We had water balloons, obstacle courses, relays, and of course our Foam Frenzy. I would like to thank our School Board members for taking the lead on this fun and rewarding afternoon. Thanks to 8 Ball Global, we had the Foam Frenzy at no cost to our students or school. Our students then brought in donations, and this combined with our raffle raised $1641 for Ang Serey PS, our sister school in Cambodia.

In 2024, the funds we raised for Ang Serey Primary School resulted in work being done for their toilets. Prior to our assistance, they had one functional toilet for 680 students plus staff. Thanks to our generosity, they have repaired broken toilets and built another toilet block so they have six toilets for staff and students. Congratulations to the Noranda community for having this impact in our world.
