The Department of Education has introduced a new online student information system for all WA public schools called Program Kaartdijin. The Kaartdijin Solution uses Compass to help schools manage student attendance, wellbeing, and communication with families.
The Compass parent portal allows parents and guardians to connect with the school online and access important information about their child.
Noranda Primary School transitioned to this new system on 27 May 2026.
Once your child commences at the school, you will receive further information and an email explaining how to access the Compass parent portal.
Compass is a web-based system that is accessible on any modern web browser ( Home | Compass ) or by using the 'Compass School Manager' app available for iOS or Android.
The Compass system will notify parents, guardians, and caregivers of any unexplained absences or late arrivals.
If your child is marked absent without an explanation, you will receive an SMS notification on your mobile phone. Messages are sent at approximately 9:45am and 12:30pm and will include a secure link to submit an attendance note explaining your child’s absence.
Please note:
The link provided is valid for 48 hours only.
Do not reply directly to the SMS, as the school will not receive SMS responses.
Your response is submitted directly to the school through the secure link.
To access the link, your phone must have an internet connection via mobile data or Wi-Fi.
If your child is absent again without prior notification, a new one-time link will be sent.
If you do not use the link provided, you may still notify the school of your child’s absence by telephone or email.
If you have any questions regarding Attendance SMS communications, please contact the school on 9218 1550.
